Navy Sailor Charged with Camp Pendleton Murder

A U.S. Navy sailor has been charged with murder for the death of 29-year-old Seaman August Provost at Camp Pendleton. Petty Officer Jonathan Campos has been charged in military court. Provost’s family enlisting the help of their congresswoman to urge the Navy to investigate his death as a hate crime. Alexander Sanz reports from Houston.

Anti-bully Law to Save Child’s Life

North Carolina has passed its contentious anti-bully law for public schools, joining 11 other states with similar measures. The American Academy of Pediatrics has also issued guidelines it says can save a bullied child’s life, that focus on the bystanders who witness the anti-gay remarks or abuse. The family of a sailor from Texas who was murdered at his sentry post at Camp Pendleton speaks out, saying he was murdered because he was gay. He was bound, shot and his guard shack set on fire, but the Navy is investigating it as a “possible” hate crime. Rucks Russell reports from Houston.

Police raid Rainbow Lounge on Stonewall anniversary

The arrested and injured patrons of the Rainbow Lounge in Fort Worth speak out about the controversial raid carried out on the same day as the Stonewall riots anniversary. Police have suspended further raids with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and lawmakers are calling for an outside investigation. Carol Cavazos reports from Fort Worth.

Yep, it’s that time of year again. Forget Billy Elliot. Forget Hair. For one night this is the hottest ticket on Broadway. We got a sneak peak (literally) at the hottest show on the Great White Way. Yeah, you definitely don’t want to miss this one.

By the way if you’re thinking of going, it’s this Sunday (6/21) at Roseland on West 52nd. There are two shows: one at 9:30 pm and one at Midnight. Midnight one’s more wild (dancers have had a few swigs of taquila by then).
